Meet The Loaves: Garlic Rosemary Edition

Meet The Loaves: Garlic Rosemary Edition

There’s something about savory sourdough that feels extra cozy — the kind of loaf that makes your whole kitchen smell like a warm dinner party, even if it’s just you and a mug of soup on the couch.

Today I’m introducing one of my personal favorites (and one I get asked about all the time):

Garlic Rosemary Sourdough.

It’s bold without being overpowering, rustic in the best way, and honestly? It might be the loaf that disappears the fastest in my house.

Where Rustic Meets Refined
This loaf is for the savory bread lovers — the ones who want something that can hold its own next to pasta night, elevate a grilled cheese, or make Tuesday leftovers feel like a restaurant meal.

It starts with my long-fermented sourdough dough (slow = flavor), then gets folded with:

Roasted garlic for that deep, mellow warmth
Rosemary for a fragrant, herby bite
– A little extra time and love (because sourdough deserves it)

The result is a loaf with a crisp crust, soft interior, and the kind of aroma that makes people wander into the kitchen asking, “What are you baking?”

Why I Love This Loaf
I talk a lot about sourdough being grounding — and this flavor is a perfect example. Garlic + rosemary is simple, classic, and comforting. It’s not trendy… it’s timeless.

And it pairs with everything.

Flavor Profile (What to Expect)
If you’ve never tried a savory mix-in sourdough, here’s what this one feels like:

🧄 Warm, roasted garlic flavor (not sharp or harsh)

🌿 Fresh, herby rosemary throughout

🥖 Chewy crust + soft, sliceable crumb

It’s savory and aromatic, but still very much real sourdough.

How We Love to Eat It
Some favorite ways to enjoy Garlic Rosemary Sourdough:

– Toasted with butter (simple, perfect)
– Dipped in olive oil + balsamic
– Served alongside pasta, soup, or chili
– As a next-level grilled cheese base
– Made into garlic bread (yes… it’s as good as it sounds)
– Cubed and toasted into croutons for salads

A Little Bread Tip
Because this loaf has bold savory flavor, it’s amazing the next day.

If you’re not finishing it right away, slice what you won’t eat within a day or two and freeze it. Then you can toast straight from frozen for that “just baked” taste.

(And please don’t put sourdough in the fridge — it dries it out so fast!)
