Cinnamon Brown Sugar Sourdough French Toast

Cinnamon Brown Sugar Sourdough French Toast

Cinnamon Brown Sugar Sourdough already has everything you want in a breakfast loaf: a soft center, warm cinnamon, and just enough sweetness. Turning it into French toast gives those flavors golden, buttery edges while keeping the middle soft and custardy.

Cinnamon Brown Sugar Sourdough French Toast

Makes approximately 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 8 slices Cinnamon Brown Sugar Sourdough
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter for the pan

Instructions

    1. Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a shallow dish.
    2. Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, coating both sides without allowing the bread to become overly soft.
    3. Melt a little butter in a skillet over medium heat.
    4. Cook each slice for approximately 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
    5. Serve warm with maple syrup, fresh berries, powdered sugar, chopped pecans, or whipped cream.

Jen’s Tip

French toast is especially good when the bread is a day or two old. It absorbs the custard mixture without falling apart, making this the perfect way to enjoy the last few slices of your loaf.

You can also freeze the leftover slices individually. Reheat them in the toaster or oven whenever you want an easy breakfast.

The Bread Makes It

This recipe is even better with thick slices of Cinnamon Brown Sugar Sourdough. The cinnamon swirl adds plenty of flavor, so every slice comes out warm, golden, and just sweet enough.
